TIL Before George W. Bush took office on January 20, 2001, White House staff caused $15,000 worth of damage to the White House, ripping phone cords from the walls, defacing bathrooms, leaving obscene voicemail messages, and removing the "W" keys from the keyboards. by thuggerybuffooneryin todayilearned

I swear, the next time someone cites Wikipedia for something dumb that is obviously fake I'm going to update the page to say the problem was three orders of magnitude WORSE than what it is just to make everyone run around going "OH SWEET JESUS LOOK AT WHAT THOSE STUPID LIBERALS DID!!"

Because, you know, if you get in a car crash in Canada you have to wait 19 hours for service and if you have a toothache they'll sentence you to death.

Without the site you don't have an active userbase that keeps it feasable and running.. instead you have a few geeks in basements trading files.

If their easily accessible site is down the idea is dead.

So, I happened to spill about 60ml (I had a dayquil cap nearby and estimated, 2 of them) of laundry detergent on my carpet. How to get it out? (ironic, I know) by reptominin AskReddit

Its rather thick and gooey.. I'll do that but I can't imagine I could even get most of it out that way without just forcing it in.

I figure if I use water and scrub I'll just end up with a shitton of bubbles, what to do?

I mean, its the concentrated stuff, so that's a couple washloads of detergent. I'm guessing I'll get A TON of bubbles if I just scrub it with water.

Ah christ, one of you.. "I apologize that I can't say the word 'think' without my words possibly construing me as being waffley on that whole reality thing if my comments are read out of context (or reasonable thought). I must state my beliefs linguistically in absolutes and keep a dictionary at my side at all times or I might be misinterpreted as someone that gives stupid ideas credence which they do not deserve."

Good?

I did the same in an American History class in High School.. I wrote every damn thing down in clicky pencil and I later found out that I didn't really need the card.. Because I'd written every damn word down I memorized the shit by accident. Somewhere in my attic I saw its a bookmark in a book stored in a box, kinda smudged pencil marks from keeping it around forever as a joke, but I passed that class and didn't need to use the damn card.

I wrote in a font that would make 8 Times New Roman look giant.

I just had an idea. Why don't we take this thing, and make inductive charging mousepads for wireless mice? by meatwad75892in pics

[–]reptomin 0 points1 point ago

Mine is a cheapo mouse that does at least 8 months a battery, and I don't even bother turning it off ever. I know it uses almost no power when just sitting there but there is a monitoring light and it takes NO time to start up. 1 AA and I'm golden for most of a year.

Wow, if true (like, you know, if you're not some 4chan asshat screwing with the guy) I do applaud your attempt to get the whole story and do what may be necessary depending on what results.

Randomly found 115 years worth of change. Almost put it in the meter. by The_White_Shadowin history

Effectively any coin that would be in constant circulation for a century would be non-existent, just too much wear. This coin is rather worn but at some point someone took it out of circulation for a long while and it somehow ended up getting back into circulation after being in a collection for many decades. No coin will easily last a century.. I could see 50 plus years in constant circulation and coming out verrrrrry worn but a century, not a chance.

Because historically American money has been worth more. Now at even it just doesn't matter.

On this side of the border (I live about 15 miles from it) Canadian money is no longer at 30% or so under the U.S., but for the annoyance of trading it in (more for because fuck you free profit for us and we've always had a percent on it) its about 15% in most stores. Just the headache of dealing with it (along with the no longer valid but still constant annoyance of dealing with the math to find out how much less its worth) many places won't accept it in change at all.. Edit that.. pretty much NO places will accept it in change at all.

Much appreciated. Is there an easy way to remove vignettes in photoshop? These were caused by a somewhat cheaper lens.

Thank you.. and the vignette is due to a cheaper lens, sadly, but its the only slight wide angle I could work with at the moment.
